A lot happened this past weekend. I was over in Nanaimo on Saturday for the ALS Adventure Challenge where I designed and managed a 17km course for an incredible fundraising event. Over 70 participants took part and helped raise over $30,000 for ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

Then on Sunday, Tim Logie and I took part in our third Jericho Oceanman. Tim did the 1000m ocean swim, we both kayaked the 6km, and then I ran the 8km beach/orienteering course. There was a salmon BBQ with apple pie and free beer following the event. The Swagman were back playing awesome tunes. It was another great event put on by Gary Parsons and his volunteer crew.

Jen Stanick (in red) raced with Sasha Brown (in black) and Lisa Ogilvie (swimming) and finished 3rd in their category.
And overseas in OZ, Jen Segger’s team, Dart-nuun (pictured below), had a wicked trek and moved up to finish in 4th place at the XPD Expedition Race. Our own Team Helly Hansen/MOMAR is doing awesome too and is now sitting in 13th place. They are in the final trekking stage and this is where they are usually the strongest, so look for another move up the rankings. They have been racing for over 132 HOURS now!
