I like getting presents! About three weeks before the Squamish MOMAR, I received an email from Nikki Adams from Houston, Texas, saying she was going to be in to Vancouver for work and wanted to do the MOMAR. Nikki had a lot of experience racing down in Texas but was a bit leary about racing in the hilly terrain of BC. However, after an exchange of emails she was convinced and signed up. Not wanting to go solo, she put the call out for a partner. Another out-of-town racer, Murray Bryant, from Australia was also going to be in town for the MOMAR so they joined forces and signed up as Team Caffeinated HFAR (I never did ask what the HFAR stands for).
Anyway, it was great to have at the race and I had to show you the cool Beer Cozy that Nikki gave me. Like I said, I like getting presents from racers and this one and a Tour de France “King of the Mountains” cycling cap from Claire Yeung back in Ukee 2005 are my favorites. I also like that I can count on getting a free beer from Yvonne and Jeff right after I finish the awards ceremony! Oh the perks of being a Race Director… Bring it on! ;0) Thank you!!!
Murray Bryant and Nikki Adams finish their first AR in BC.
