Mind Over Mountain Adventure Racing (MOMAR) was established in 2000. The event is owned and operated by Bryan Tasaka along with the help of contract staff and many amazing volunteers.

The MOMAR is considered a sprint race in the sport of adventure racing. Each race requires teams to mountain bike, orienteer, kayak, trail run, bushwhack, and rappel through a 40-50km course.

Past venues for the MOMAR have included the towns of Duncan, Shawnigan Lake, Ladysmith, Ucluelet, Cumberland, Courtenay, Sechelt, and Squamish.
